Privacy Statement
Learnora is a small early-stage project. We collect as little personal information as possible — and only what we need to keep you in the loop.
On this page
i.Who we are
This Privacy Statement applies to Learnora, a trading name of LANTHEON PTY LTD (ABN 28 695 758 868, ACN 695 758 868), a company registered in Queensland, Australia (referred to as "Learnora", "we", "us" or "our").
We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Even where we are not legally required to comply — for example as a small business operator — we choose to follow these principles as a matter of practice.
ii.What personal information we collect
At this early stage, the personal information we collect is intentionally minimal:
| Information | When we collect it |
|---|---|
| Email address | When you join the waitlist on our website. |
| Name and family details (optional) | If you choose to share them with us by email or in a conversation. |
| Technical information | Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps — used to operate and secure the website. |
| Correspondence | The content of any email or message you send us. |
We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act — including health, religious, racial or biometric information) through this website. If we ever do, it will only be with your express consent and for a clear purpose.
iii.How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you — for example, when you submit the waitlist form, reply to one of our emails, or contact us. We do not buy contact lists and we do not scrape information from third parties.
iv.Why we collect it
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To add you to the Learnora waitlist and send occasional updates about what we are building;
- To answer questions and conduct conversations you have started with us;
- To improve and secure the website;
- To comply with our legal obligations.
We will not use your information for any unrelated purpose without telling you first or obtaining your consent.
v.Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with a small number of trusted service providers who help us run the project — and only to the extent necessary. These currently include:
- Our website and hosting provider (for website operation and security logs);
- Our email and mailing-list provider (to send waitlist updates);
- Professional advisers (such as lawyers or accountants) where required;
- Government, regulatory or law enforcement agencies where required or authorised by law.
vi.Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia — most commonly in the United States or the European Union. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
By submitting your information through this website you acknowledge that some of it may be transferred to and stored in those jurisdictions.
vii.Storage & security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include encryption in transit, restricting access to those who need it, and using reputable service providers.
We will retain your information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out above, or as required by law. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
viii.Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete or misleading;
- Withdraw consent to receive marketing communications at any time;
- Request deletion of your information where we are not required to keep it;
- Be anonymous or use a pseudonym where it is lawful and practicable.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time — generally within 30 days.
ix.Children
This website is intended for adults — typically parents or guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
x.Cookies & similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to operate the website. For details, please see our Cookies Notice.
xi.Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with this Statement or the Privacy Act, please contact us first. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
- Website: oaic.gov.au
- Phone: 1300 363 992
- Post: GPO Box 5288, Sydney NSW 2001
xii.Changes to this Statement
We may update this Statement from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of the page. If we make material changes, we will let waitlist members know by email.
